It is fair to say that gaining my Private Pilots License has been the toughest thing I’ve ever done so far the self study, the exams, the financial commitment, the delays be it bad weather or injury it all confirmed my desire to stick at it and get my PPL.
Having been a member of the ATC as a teenager I got my first proper taste of aviation flying in Chipmunks out of RAF Shawbury and ultimately a powered glider course at RAF Cosford which ended with a solo circuit the seed was well and truly sewn. In my professional career working for the British Forces Broadcasting Service in Kosovo confirmed what I already knew aircraft still fascinated me.
So how to go about living the dream?
Join the RAF as a Pilot: Not clever enough at school found it more fun to look out the window rather than at the black board. I applied to join as an Air Traffic Controller but couldn’t so didn’t
Rob a Bank: Not at realistic option
Work Hard and Save Up: Yes that’s the way forward for me and after 25 years of dreaming I finally started to live the dream
Plenty more to come on these pages soon but for now check out my Training Website
